More about the Exploratorium website: Fabricated Realities: Virtual Worlds, Mixed and Augmented Reality
Virtual worlds! Machinima (films made entirely in virtual worlds)! MMOGs(Massively Multiplayer Online Games)! These interactive online genres incorporate elaborate, persistent digital landscapes inhabited by millions of web surfers who go there to learn, play, and create. Since 2006, the Exploratorium has inhabited the virtual world of Second Life, creating events, virtual exhibits, and an interactive learning environment. This collection showcases video and machinima about what we're doing these virtual environments and with mixing the real world with virtual realities.
