Accordionist Rob Reich plays along with classic animations to set the mood for Halloween mischief. Felix the Cat, Betty Boop, and other creepy characters appear on the screen in stories filled with fright as well as delight. Reich's instrumentation breathes new life into these early Hollywood films through a partially improvised soundtrack. All will be presented on 16mm film. Films include Felix the Cat Switches Witches (1927, 8 min.) by Pat Sullivan, Betty Boop's Hallowe'en Party (1933, 7 min.) by Dave Fleischer, Bimbo's Initiation (1931, 7 min.) by Dave Fleischer, and Silly Symphonies Skeleton Dance (1929, 7 min.) by Ub Iwerks.
