Welcome to another season of Ice Stories: Dispatches from Polar Scientists! The Exploratorium has sent a team of media producers down to Antarctica to report back on current science going on there. In this webcast, we speak to Robin Bell from the AGAP. AGAP (Antarctic Gamburtsev Province) expedition. The AGAP expedition is the first systematic study of our planet's last unexplored mountain range lying up to 2-1/2 miles under the most massive ice sheet on Earth. This was our first webcast of the season, so we had some technical difficulties to contend with.
What's it like to be a research scientist working in the Arctic or Antarctica? We gave polar scientists video cameras and asked them to document their field work. Webcasts produced at the poles are another part of the Ice Stories project.
